HearFromYourMP.com

Writing on the MySociety blog, Tom Steinberg notes that it's a year since HearFromYourMP was launched. This reminded me to look at Martin Linton's page on the site. It says that 100 people have signed up to recieve email from him and that HearFromYourMP have contacted him four times, but that so far he hasn't used the service. He'll be contacted again once 150 people have signed up.

In my opinion, it's a real shame when MPs don't take advantage of the possibilities offered by the internet. I wonder if there's anything we can do to convince Martin Linton of its power.

Official Web Site Still Missing

The official web site is still sporting a minimal front page, several months after a new site was promised.

We understand that Martin Linton's staff are very busy on a number of other projects, so we're happy to repeat our offer to help out with the project in any way that we can.

Official Site Recovering

The official site seems to be recovering slowly. There are, at least, some links to pages from the old site.

I've emailed Martin Linton this morning repeating my offer to give him or his staff accounts on this site so that they can use it to post stories. I've even offered to host the official site for them.

Official Web Site AWOL

It seems that Martin Linton's official web site is experiencing some difficulties. In fact it has been having problems since the general election.

Election Aftermath

So that's it all over then. After two recounts, Martin Linton was returned as Battersea's MP for the third time.

But he was one of the hardest hit victims of the protest votes against Tony Blair's style of government. He lost almost 5,000 votes and is now the fourth[1] most vulnerable Labour party MP with a majority of only 163. The Tories will certainly have their eyes on the seat for 2009 or 2010.

It's going to be an interesting four or five years.
