The Home Affairs Select Committee, which is looking into the wide-scale rioting and looting in Clapham Junction, Lavender Hill and across England last month, has heard evidence from Battersea’s MP Jane Ellison.
Battersea MP Jane Ellison has welcomed the announcement by Wandsworth Borough Council of an independent review into the disorder in Clapham Junction and Lavender Hill last month.
The Secretary of State for Education has agreed to enter into a funding agreement with ARK Schools in relation to the proposed ARK Bolingbroke Academy. The news was warmly welcomed by local MP, Jane Ellison.
“Battersea has been taking the strain for too long” said Jane Ellison, the area’s MP, in response to the announcement that the long-awaited reopening of Albert Bridge has now been put back, again, to December 2011.
On Friday 30 September, local MPs, Jane Ellison, Justine Greening and Stephen Hammond joined thousands of other people up and down the UK in holding a fundraising coffee morning. The event was part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
